American Suburban Utilities, Inc. (ASU) is requesting all wastewater service customers to please take note that the utility expects to file to remove the Utility Receipts Tax (URT) with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (Commission) on or about May 1, 2022. ASU is expecting an order from the Commission around June 1, 2022. Removal of the URT from rates is required by a new law signed by Governor Holcomb on March 15, 2022. The new law sets the effective date of this change to July 1, 2022. Following approval by the Commission, the removal will be implemented in ASU’s regular monthly bill starting with July 2022.
